Kabali is a 2016 Indian Tamil gangster-drama film written and directed by Pa. Ranjith. The film stars Rajinikanth as the title character, whilst Taiwanese actor Winston Chao, Radhika Apte, Dhansika, Dinesh Ravi, Kalaiyarasan, and John Vijay star in other pivotal roles. Principal photography for the film began on 21 August 2015 in Chennai. While filming mostly occurred in Malaysia, smaller scenes were shot in Bangkok and Hong Kong. The film was released on 22 July 2016.Kabali released in 3200 screens in India, which included 2200 screens in South India. It shattered all the record for an Indian film worldwide. The film has received mixed reviews, from audiences and critics alike.

'Kabali' rakes in Rs. 90 crore on Day 1

Released on Friday, actor Rajinikanth’s Kabali raked in crores on the opening day, and this continued to be a talking point across social media over the weekend.

While the debate is on, trade analysts have speculated that Kabali’s day one collections might be between Rs. 80 crore to Rs. 90 crore including the Tamil Nadu, India and overseas markets.
